You should say:
what the friend achieved
when it happened
how your friend accomplished it
and explain why you thought it was a success.

Answer:

Success is always desired, everywhere. Everyone is after it but not all of them can achieve it. At times, the enjoyment doubles when someone close to us turns successful. My close college buddy Aryan was successful in attaining a Canadian college scholarship. It was a tough task for him to deal with.

During the last week of September, Aryan told me that he was going to apply for a Canadian scholarship. I was wondering why he preferred Canada for the scholarship. There were many other states and we do have some great universities here in India and Australia. Thereby, it was a matter of surprise to me.

The entire process was tough. Aryan had to apply for the Canadian scholarship in separate universities. Owing to a moderate academic background, it was tough for him to accommodate himself at any reputed Canadian universities for higher studies. Aryan– a boy of 18- loved to spend time with friends. But I saw some major changes in him during this period. However, everything turned into normalcy after he got the scholarship.

Truly, it was a success for Aryan. He had to study the French language for at least six months. Besides, he also prepared for the interviews and prepared the lessons accordingly. And often he practiced the language with me. Besides, he cut his virtual social network for this time. He had to fight against many odds and finally, he won the battle. He is an international student to one of the most reputed Canadian universities now. And he promises to get a better academic career this time. Considering all the aspects, I think it was a big success for him.
