One such busy time I really remember was the time when I had the deadline to submit my thesis paper which is the ultimate assignment to gain a Master’s Degree in International Relations. IELTS cue card 2020
This thesis paper is of great importance to me because it will decide whether I can get through the master course with flying color or not. I had just 1 month to complete my thesis paper but I had a full-time job which accounted for 8 hours per day so I had hardly a few hours left for this graduation paper. I was also a procrastinator who always waits until the last minute to do anything which made me fall behind my schedule for my thesis paper.
Moreover, the thesis was really complex and challenging, therefore, I had tons of tasks waiting for me to be carried out such as collecting data for the report in the thesis, doing group discussions to brainstorm good ideas for the thesis and surfing high and low to collect information online as references for the thesis. I even didn’t have time left for my personal stuff. To be more specific, I did not spend time visiting my parents for the whole month even though they were in the same town. I couldn’t also visit some close friends, maintain my social networking profiles, and update my blog. I did not feel good about it so it was particularly stressful for me.
However, I knew that I had to stay motivated and productive to get through this hard time. I worked flat out and put a lot of time and effort into it to meet worked flat out and put a lot of time and effort into it to meet tight deadlines and get the best results for the thesis paper. For the sake of that, I got a straight ‘A’ in my thesis, continued my job, and did well in my term final. I had to sacrifice a lot and maintain a strict routine and stop lots of my other activities that I usually do. At the end of the day, it was well worth the effort time!
Nowadays, with the incredibly fast-paced living, it’s not unusual to see how busy people are in their lives. Honestly speaking, I have found myself like thousands of times up to my neck in work, however, the time that is most memorable for me is the one of chasing the deadline to submit my final thesis paper for graduation. The allowed time for me to fulfill this task is 2 months, nevertheless, I spent almost three weeks struggling to figure out the topic.
In addition, I was under pressure by the job pressure at the company where I was performing as an intern. Between working at the corporates, attending classes, and completing the assigned thesis, I was in fact a busy little beaver for almost 2 months. I barely had time remaining for my personal stuff and I was really stressed out that I was falling behind my schedule for my thesis paper submission. It was indeed a complicated one that required me to do tons of research, both from libraries and the Internet.
I had to visit some local companies to collect data for my thesis. Those days were so tough and I had been so busy that sometimes I slept for 3 hours only at night.
However, at the end of the day, I completed the thesis with flying colors and had it submitted in due time. Although it was extremely challenging for me at that time, I felt that all of my dedication and effort were truly rewarding. It also gave me some precious experience in time management and dealing with stress in life.
